Subject: V8 TB & Spacer? IP: Logged
Message: Does anyone recommend when I put my new V8 TB on my V6 should I also go with the spacer. I have read the spacer is not that big of a deal, maybe improving MPG a little and thats it. With both on, how much clearance is left between it and the hood?

Message: I'm not sure how thick the spacer is but you should have room, I think there is like an inch and a half of clearance between the front of the stock air cleaner and the hood when it is closed. But in my opinion the spacer is a waste of money. It would probably help on a carburator but on a port injected engine what the air is doing in the intake before the injectors really doesn't matter.

Message: I've read many places that a TB spacer will do pretty much nothing for the 3.9L V6. Go to Speed Tweaks, then go to Tips and Tricks section, then to Thottle Body Spacers. There is more info there.
