Subject: 3.9 Kit? IP: Logged
Message: I was wondering who makes a good 3.9L Master Rebuild Kit for the old Dino Motors. What needs to be done to the motor, where do I start and how do I know if someone is pulling my chain,ETC. How much should a good should a shop charge me, and how do I find out if I could trust the people that work there? Thanx, any help would be great!

Message: Check the auto parts stores some may have a kit
I know napa does not for the 3.9
Hughesengines.com can also set you up with all
the parts good quility parts but you must know
if the motor needs to be bored and if the crank
will be ground
a used motor low miles start around $600 to $800
you can find reman engines starting around
$1200 to $1400
A shop to swap a motor around $300 to $500 if they
do all the rebuilding also around $3000 to $4000
That should give you an idea which way you want
to go
