Subject: Best tires? IP: Logged
Message: Question, has anyone out there ever had a set of "Trail Mark APR tires"? My local Goodyear dealer is trying to sell me a set of these because he says they are a good value for the money(about $100.00 each) and they are a very close clone of my favorite, but too expensive, tire in the world, the BF Goodrich All Terrain T/A. He says they are made by the Kelley Tire Co. Can anyone tell me anything about these tires? Thanks ,,,,,Virgil.

Message: Companies like Kelly and Cooper have been around for 100 years. They produce a very high quality product and the price you pay goes more for the product than advertising and other unnecessary overhead.
Unfortunately I don't see that tire listed in Kelly's lineup. Stick to companies that actually put their name on the tire and don't believe everything a salesman tells.
You can always tell when a salesman is lying to you, their lips are moving.

Message: Check out the ratings over on 1010tires.com and tirerack.com. You'll be amazed at how poorly current owners rate tires from some of the well known tire companies. You'll also be amazed at how well tires from some lesser known companies rate.

Message: I got Bridgestone Potenzas, but these are hard to find, for this model in my size. Most of you may want a truck tire, these are a HI Performance tire.
They do make a truck version of the Potenzas, but I know nothing about them.

Message: I have Kelly SUV tires and love em, no noise, great traction wet or dry. They were about 60.00 each mounted.

Message: I bought Cooper Cobra GT's p265/60/r15 for my 99 Dakota. Nice wide tire provides lots of contact to the pavement and they are the best i've had yet. My third different kind of "summer tires." They were about 390 installed for all 4. Never heard of Kelly-Springfield "Trail Mark APR" tires though so i can't help.

Message: I just took a big hit and bought the BF Goodrich all terrains and they are definitely worth the money. I got them for 130 bucks each, but I've seen them a little higher and lower (Not by more than about 10 bucks) The tire is a very hard rubber, lasts forever, but still has amazing wet and dry traction. I'm sure they're gonna be great in the snow. Look at the review on tire rack.com, they got flying colors in every category. 500+ bucks for tires is a lot, but you get what you pay for. They also look great, they have a thick aggressive looking tread and raised white lettering. They make a little noise on acceleration and turns, but hey that's why they call it a truck.
