Subject: Brake caliper warning IP: Logged
Message: A couple of weeks ago I noticed I practically had to drop anchor to stop my truck. I bought new pads, and brought the truck over to a buddy's house. Upon removal of the calipers we found one of the pistons was cracked and in turn had ruined the seal. I replaced them (but I didn't replace or turn down my rotors-came to bite me in the a$$), along with the pads, and bled them all. Stops much better now. I'm posting this because I just read a similar situation on GB2000's cardomain site. As I had the same situation I figured I'd let you all know it has happened before. Also, my truck has a 3" body lift and was running 33" baja claws at the time, and GB2000 runs a stock height 2wd dakota with stock (looking) tire size. If this happens to you its probably not the lift that killed your calipers.(it killed your pads)
