Subject: Brake Rotor IP: Logged
Message: I have to change my front rotors on my 2000 Dakota Club Cab 4wd.I ordered Power Slot but they are hat type rotors and mine look like the hub has to come off with bearings to replace them.Is this true? Can anyone help? I tried to remove the rotor but I think I have to change the hub and rotor assembly. To do this.??? Thanks for help!

Message: It should be the hat style rotor, most likely the reason that your having problems getting the rotor off is good old rust. you'll need to beat it off with a hammer then work it loose as rust and sand build up inside the rotor and make it difficult to slip off.

Message: Should that be the same type of rotor that is going to be on my 98? I've looked in my haynes manual and it says nothing about having to replace bearings and seals when you do the brakes. Just wondering because I know most of the time the bearings come with the rotor assembly for trucks.
