 Subject: Spintech exhaust system

I will be having a Spintech muffler system installed on my truck next week. I was thinking of replacing my 2.25/2.5 Y with a 2.25/3 Y and putting a 3" highflow cat and a Spintech 3" in/out muffler. However when I called the muffler shop they told me to leave everything stock and just install a 2.5" in/out muffler and possibly a 2.5" high flow cat. I have put quite a few mods on my truck KRC206 cams/70mm F&B TB/HO intake/ASP underdrive pulley. So what do you think would be the best exhaust setup? Thanx Tom J.

Sorry, I should have caught that. GSMotorsports sells a good dual exhaust system for the 4.7 and uses Spintech mufflers. Check out GSMotorsports.com.

not on a 4.7 you don't only on a 5.9 the 3 in a 4.7 flows too much and just plain KILLS low end torque. please dude, too many times you put your 2 cents in and are just plain NOT RIGHT.

Even with the 206 cams, which will be shifting torque to higher rpms ? You'd be more credible if you used your usual screen name.

What do you mean by usual screen name? Ive always used my name when I post here. I am known as Big Johnston on other dodge sites.
So if 3" is too big what would the perfect exhaust system be? High flow cat? true duals? I am probably going to have something installed tomorrow I just don't know what.

I wasn't directing that comment at you, Tom, it was meant for "hey K" who I think was slamming me out of ignorance. I don't know if that person mistakenly thought I was suggesting dual 3" or what their problem was. If you look 4 posts up, I didn't say 3" was too big, I was agreeing with what you were originally considering. What the muffler shop is recomending may be too small for your mods. Dual 3" would be too big.

go with the SpinTech True duels from gs motorsports get the 2.5 with cats. you will love it. I have it on my truck and it sounds mean and the performance gains were great around 15hp over the MBRP catback.
