I ported my stock 68MM throttle body today.
I removed the ridge and bored it slightly. It should be at least 68MM now. I don't have a mic that reads in MM right now.

Before.

After

It was raining so I couldn't tell any difference if any. Maybe some upper R's. I hear doing this is good with the HO cams. They should be here any time now.

You can see my project HERE.

Maybe you should save your money and get a 70 or 72 mm for the additional hp.

I don't think I need a TB that big for what I am doing to it (HO cams, and some mild mods). Those TB's are for more nasty engines, using more radical cams (218's), etc.
I would assume a 72 would kill more of my low end. Not sure, but it's a load of money to try. A STOCK TB is only $69 if I screw mine up.

Hey Graphite, how do the HO cams perform while towing? Did these kill the low end TQ at all or did they help out the low end TQ.

Let us know how the TB porting does for towing also if noticable

Looks good, Shawn !
DSW - I have both mods, ported TB didn't seem to hurt towing, and the HO cams help - more power everywhere - no loss down low.

DSW, I don't have the HO cams yet. I ordered them almost 3 weeks ago. KRC has had problems getting the correct parts form their source or something but I hope to have them soon.

In a few hours I will be towing a trailer with 3 Quads to the Dunes. I will know then if the porting helped or hurt me.

When I get the HO cams in I'll probably make another Dune trip and find out what they did as well.

Thanks for the excellent post. I'm about to give this mod a try. Is there a certain wheel grit to look for?
