 Subject: Flowmaster muffler question

Hello
I decided to go with a flowmaster muffler on my 2002 Dakota extra cab 4x4 with the 3.9. The question I was wondering about if the flowmaster is a direct replacement too the stock. I noticed that they have hangers on the stock muffler is all.

if not all you have to do is add a hanger, no biggie just pick one up at the parts housse

Not a direct replacement. You have to add a pipe to it to replace the length difference between the stock and the flowmaster muffler.

It depends on whether you are buying just the muffler or the kit. The kit is a bolt on with no modification. Adding just the muffler will require a length of pipe as Wrong pointed out.

They can't deny your warranty for changing the muffler. Check
the Magnussen Moss Act/Warranty Denial/Consumer Bill of
Rights

Go back to that dealer and read them the riot act! They have to
prove your muffler caused the problem with the O2 and the cat.
They are just being lazy and trying to stick you for money.
