Message: That's all the wide that thing is? It looked wider in the pictures.
So to get this right, the widest point between the chains is slightly less than 1 1/2 inches???
Did you make yours, or get one with the kit Kowalski?
I was thinking of using simple ol' wood with a pull rope. I'd think it wouldn't damage the chain at all.

Message: ya,,it's a pretty small little block. I was surprised too when I changed mine out. Took a few minutes to trim a piece of wood just right - definitely drill a hole for a pull rope,,,would really suck if it fell in somehow or got royally stuck. You don't have to slam it in there,,,the ratcheting effect is apparently very 'light', and doesn't take much force to keep the chains apart.
You'll definitely want to have a friend help you with it though.

Message: On the cam install, some people have a
problem with the cam pin. It is made out of
soft metal and if you don't hold the tension on
the cam when installing the sprocket, you can
crush the pin. This will cause the cams to be
missed times just alittle. If it's the passenger
side cam, it will throw a code. But if it's the
driver side cam. It will not throw a code.

Message: I assume the TARGET wheel on the one cam would be throwing the code.
If my friend is around, he'll help. But if not I'll still manage I'm sure.
I just want to wait until Sunday to do it so I have time and can take pictures of the entire install process.

Message: Marty or Chris, I was just wondering how you Guy's made out with M-1 I sent you for red vain powder coat? Last I spoke to you Marty, and you told me that it came back with an unexceptable yellowish brown clearcoat, and you were having it done over. How'd you make out? A.J.Sanchez

Message: Graphite - I just made mine from some 1/2" thick oak. If all you have is more common 3/4" pine, I think there'd be room for that extra thickness, but don't really remember. The real tool is about 1/2" thick.
