Well i was going to do the tps mod and i checked my stock tps and it was reading .925....we tried grounding it different places including the negative battery post we tried it 6 times and kept getting the same reading...not to mention that my truck has a problem when in overdrive..the rpms surge up about 100 to 200 rpm so maybe the sensor is bad...any help would be greatly appreciated...

well i changed it and now it still surges...what is wrong with it now...any other possible problems that anyone can think of....i really want to fix this...not that it hurts me when i race...but just drivin it bugs the crap out of me so if anyone has any more info it would be greatly appreciated.

The PCM tells the torque converter clutch when to lock up based on vehicle speed and TPS voltage. Assuming your surging is TCC-related, and assuming that the new TPS is good (DOA parts right out of the box are not unheard of) you're looking at physical wiring, PCM, TCC solenoid, the brake pedal switch, or possibly the TCC itself. Wish I could give you more than that, when I had the same problem replacing the TPS fixed it. Good luck with it.

There's not just one right voltage - you want instant throttle response, no surging, and no codes thrown. Unless you have a problem with one of those areas, whatever you have is fine.

i have a 93 5.2.its detonating,pukes black smoke and is getting about 4mpg.any ideas whts wrong
