Subject: stage III vs. z-tube? IP: Logged
Message: I want to get an intake (2000 CC 4.7L 4wd) and i could wait for K&N, but everyone seems happy with intenseperformance.com, so should i get the stage III or the z-tube? would a 7 in. filter be good enough? stage III is cold air, and the price is about the same as z-tube, but is stage III going to fit 4.7L? all i care about is performance, not looks, or even how it sounds. I'm assuming the K&N gen II is also cold air, so i could just wait for that, since it costs about the same as the z-tube, also assuming stage III doesn't fit 4.7L, otherwise, stage III would be a good choice, and i could get it right now. any comments or answers to my questions? thanks. also, if anyone has exact numbers on hp improv. from z-tube or stage III please list them. I'd hate to waste all my money on an airaid, but if i dont' hear back from anyone, i'll do it. i swear i will. they say airaid only improves 11hp.

Message: Your best bet is to email intenseperformance and ask him. He's really good about responding to email questions. Helped me with my intake. I thought the 4.7's need the z-tube cuz of the way the air intake is setup on them. Maybe the 4.7 guys can shed some more light on that. But, definitely, email intenseperformance and see what he says.

Message: Ive talked to john a couple times,I jus got in the mail my z-tube with the pro-flow filter as he told me the stage 3 wont fit the 4.7 its just to tight thats why hes not marketing it you can either get the stage 2 or ztube with a powerstack filter an order the quick cold separatley and do it that way ,the powerstack dont flow as well as the big mouth or the pro-flow,has to do with the shape of the bell an you can only use they quick cold with the powerstack filters he said, the pro-flow is about an 1 1/2 wider around than even the big mouth,I just opened the box its FN huge, let ya know how it works, saw a post from some guy sayin he got like 22 hp an 28 t/q from this setup with an mbrp cat-back,I also have the mbrp dual split cat an it rocks :)

Message: Wow, people are actually getting responses to email & have talked to intense performance on the phone. I never got a response to an email & the only phone number available on the web page is "for emergency purposes only". I like the look of the z-tube but think combining parts such as the cold air kit with a custom made hose connected to the TB is a good way to go.

Message: 'fraid I'm gonna have to agree with "kicker01"...
I tried unsucessfully to e-mail (and place an order). Just didn't get a response. Unfortunately, this paints an unforgettable picture as to what kind of service I might expect, should I experience some kind of problem.
Too bad, though... cool product, but I've been burnt too many times by internet deals, and this site leaves me with a BAD feeling.

Message: I have an idea!
Maybe they could ship the product FIRST, THEN we could send payment AFTER we receive it.
After all... people think nothing of sending money blindly to a company they've never heard of, so why should it be any different the other way around?
YES... I'm being completely sarcastic, but it makes ya think, if just for a second.
