It's been a month in the set up / negotiation stage but we are finally ready to "Get it ON!"
Tomorrow,Sunday 5 Ford Lightnings will go heads up with 5 Dodge Dakotas in Phoenix AZ at SpeedWorld. I have posted the vehicle specs below. Video and results will be posted on the web site by monday. There are several board members competing in this one. Wish them luck, they are going to have their hands full in this line up.

Seems like fun! I'm sure a lot of us have our collective fingers crossed for our camp.
I noticed that the Ford's all pretty much have the 10" tires, is that the bigest that will go on there or just a coincidence? Just wondering.

Hey, what's Speed World? I used to live in Phx 15 years ago and ran at Firebird and,,, Umm the track up north by Sun City. Is there another 1/4 mile strip in Phx now, or did they remane one?

Oh hell. I live at 130th ave and T-Bird so that's 30 min or less from me! I would LOVE to come out and meet the guys. I ESPECIALLY want to see Duner's truck run.
I assume he's got the motor back together????
Let us know when it will be rescheduled (I hope) and hopefully not the weekend of March 5th. I'm going to the Dunes again.

Yes it will be rescheduled.
I am guessing it will be in June but I am not sure which track it will be at.

Sorry to hear about the crap weather, we had our share of it in LV too.
HTRjohn, I liked the pic's. Doesn't look like the track has changed much since I was running out there in 90. Brought back some good memories. Bet the wife will throw a fit If I get into racing again. LOL

Am I seeing things, or does the blue Dak (Mike P.'s, I think) have Viper wheels? If so, how do they fit/where to buy/etc/etc/etc.

Mike Pitts used to run the 20" R/T rims but now has Viper rims on there. The Viper is the only other vehicle besides the Dakota/Durango with the 6 on 4.5 bolt pattern, so they're a perfect fit on our trucks. You can use the 17x10 or 18x10 rims without any problems, but the 18x13's/etc. are a bit too wide without really sticking out from the fenders.

the 17x13 stick out less than thet stock R/T wheels. When i had em on my truck, they stuck out 1/2" past the fender (i dont have fender flares). Maybe the 18x13 is different.. the problem is it gets really close to the leaf spring. I didnt have that problem because i have ladder bars.
its all thanx to the 10" of backspacing they have.

You (or anyone here) are more than welcome to come down and help out. Watch the schedule page on the Hot Teams site ( www.outrunU.com ) or contact me and I will let you know what is going on but expect the reschedule to be around may or June.
I will be headed to Vegas with Duner and the rest of the Convoy out of Phoenix for the Mopars at the strip. I will be bringing my Red/White Challenger and the white 2500 cummins tow vehicle. Give me a holler if you see the car.
Also, we had considered doing a small Hot Teams match in Vegas, a Phoenix vs Vegas line up of maybe 5 or 10 cars/trucks on a team. However, I have just been so busy I have not had much time to put it together. If it is something that anyone here is interested in let me know and we might work something out.

I'll see what I can scrounge up as far as trucks are concerned (although it will be a very weak matchup, there are very few of us R/T owners here in Las Vegas with modifications much less what Duner/Scott/Mike/Glen have done).
As far as Mopar to Mopar action, it would be best to talk to the Las Vegas Mopar Club and see what they can bring out to play. I don't have anything to do with them as their charter is restrictive on what Mopars they'll allow in the club (older mopars plus vipers and prowlers and PT cruisers but no trucks or newer cars).
