Message: I was wondering if you still had your spec sheet from that cam, i wanted to confirm the lift. I just got mine and the numbers don't match up exactly.

Message: Janesy, the numbers on the card are based on a 1.5 rocker ratio (stock on the old LA small blocks). At a 1.6 ratio, everything should compute out fine.

Message: When i did the math it comes out at .512IN/.520EX.
Not that i'm complaining about the higher lift, but i think i'm missing something. I already asked marty, but i did not have the sheet in front of me at the time. And i kinda feel dumb for not understanding his answer when i got home to do the math again
Here's the numbers.
Lobe lift: .320IN / .325EX
Gross valve lift: .480IN / .487EX
Duration: 206IN / 212EX ( i also thought it was 210)
Anyway, am i making a mistake somewhere? .320 X 1.6 = .512?

Message: Janesy, the 210 lobe was the old lobe pattern, we changed all the lobes to the extreme energy profile for a faster aggressive ramp and they do not have a 210 in the Extreme profile for the exhaust, that is why the 206 has been changed to the 206/212 and has not been site updated yet. You are correct, the lobe lift is multiplied by the rocker ratio. Take care!

Message: They must have changed the lobes, what engine/vehicle combo is the cam going in.

Message: That's great guy, thanks. I guess this cam might be a touch more agressive than the cam i though i bought, perfect!.
Thanks for your reply RED, i read all your previous post to come up with the decision for the 206x. If mines as good as yours is i'll be quite happy.

Message: Right now, i have R/T cam, beer barrel, stock heads cut to 1.97 valves, High lift springs, flat topped hypertunetic pistons, MP comp, MP headers, BandB to .030 over. I built my 318 last year with many other mods, and it is very strong, but i got used to it very quickly. Just before snow i got a new tranny with transgo and 2800 stall conv. but i haven't had a chance to try it yet
This year i have an M1 w/ large turtle, 1.6 Roller rockers, the 206X, dbl roller chain w/ tensioner, to add. But i still need to get 2.02 r/t's and a TB before i start the work.
The parts pile is growing

Message: What year are u working on?? With those mod's u will love the 206X!! I don't know if u will gain that much with the R/T heads over what u have now. If you had the 360 I would have a different opinion. I am going to get the Edelbrock Magnum heads to go on the stroker I am building. I beleive the Edelbrock heads will make the R/T's obsolete if they are as good as they say. Keep me posted.....

Message: I agree on those Edelbrock heads. Just looking at the specs they are impressive. They come assembled for almost the same price as DC wants for their "BARE" Aluminum Magnum head. I think I may pick me up a pair this summer. This will be the first upgrade I've made to my 2000R/T. Of course, I'm going to do the cam and headers while I got it apart. That's why I'm waiting until this summer. Also, I've done some calling around and I can't locate the Edelbrock Magnum Heads. Everyone tells me they are not available yet. I hope Edelbrock doesn't decide to not make these.

Message: I'm working with a 93 short/short, and my lil 318. So i am stoked to see what the 206X will do, especially if it is bigger than i though.can't wait!
I read the edelbrock heads on their site, but i kinda got the impression that you would get large gains IF you used their manifold and a carb setup. I didn't see to much info on using the mpi setup. But i only read it once, I would like to hear of someone's results before i bought them. Do you have aftermarket heads on your 318 RED? I'm kinda torn between the 1.97's (which i already have all the parts for) and the 2.02. Thing is when i pull this thing apart next month, i don't want to have to do it again just because i didn't get the heads at the time.

Message: I have fully ported stock heads with D/C springs and retainers. I port matched the M-1 intake and I am using the Ford Motorsport 21lb injectors. I had the 2.02's on my 340 and it only picked up a 1/10th over the 1.88's that were on it. If you had the 360 I can see the bigger valves but I don't think you will see the benefit over the 1.97's on the 318 unless it's very heavily modded with a bigger cam than the 206x.
My 2 cents.....
