Message: just trying to gather up some parts to help out my old 5.2 (153000 miles) would 1.7 rockers be ok if i go with 50mm TB,19# injectors and a 3"exhaust? i have a set of rebuilt heads already, do i need to think about diff. springs or push-rods? considering those hardan/midlands. thanks

Message: You already said the key word. "Old." Everything you're talking about doing is designed to increase power, but this also increases stress on the reciprocating assembly. This will accelerate wear on what is left of the engine. It's a hard sell, but that money would be better spent in a rebuild, or securing a rebuild candidate.

Message: Yeah, you have to start to think about a rebuild with that much mileage. On the other hand, all of those mods would swap to a new motor if that becomes necessary. If the motor is in good shape to start with, those mods should be fine. I'll assume the rebuilt heads probably have new springs. BTW, I can't get the separate y-pipe, sorry dude.
