Is there anyone living in the Hamilton Ontario area that has a Superchip engine tuner.
What I need is someone to change the engine parameters, the speedometer, the shift pattern when I install a 4.10 rear end in my 98 Dakota.
Thanks

From what I've read, Superchips tuners only work on one truck at
a time. When you modify the pcm that's it, it's linked to that
vehicle until you unmodify it, only then could you modify
another vehicle. It's a way to keep people honest and force
everyone to buy their product instead of sharing it. As far as
your speedo, it won't be affected by a gear change as the sensor
is further downstream of the gears. This has been brought up
before on here.

I'm with another mark on this one. Wheel diameter changes will change it.

what do you mean it won't change the speedo??
anytime you change gears and or tire diameter it will affect the speedo accuracy.
think about it.

A tire change will but not gears. There is a sensor on the axle
after the differential which handles this. So the only thing after
this sensor you could change would be your tire. We're not
talking about a Camaro here.

From what I understand, you upload the program you want from the superchips unit to your pcm and then put away the superchips unit until you are ready to change programs again.
