I bought this Dakota (Reg Cab 2 WD 5 SPD) new in May 03 and I drive it 32 miles each way to work. The cruise is set on the speed limit (70) and the best I get is 17 MPG!!!! I talked to the service MGR. at my dealer and he said Dodges aren't famous for MPG. But 17 on the freeway? Any suggestions out there? I have to fill up every 4 days.

You could have got just as good milage with the 4.7 v8. The 6 just has to work too hard to move that much weight. Not bad milage for a truck, should you have gone with a Neon ?

I had a Ranger that would run circles around this DAK and still get almost 30 MPG. I just ordered a tonneau cover, the only suggestion from the dealer. I read somewhere that a "lazy"O2 sensor will not set off a check engine light. Heard of that?
