Ok well its official...i work at DaimlerChrysler...and we were just givin a preview of the new dakota..with all the available options and engines that will be offered with it. I am sorry to say no HEMI. Not yet at least. When asked..they said they had no plans to offer an R/T package anytime soon. The two V8s they use will be the standard 4.7..and a H.O. 4.7 .It will also be the first truck to boast heated cloth seats as an option!! Production to begin in the summer!! Any questions to this will be verified soon by an official press release by DaimlerChrysler soon. Just thought i would keep everybody posted on the latest...instead of everyone talking rumors and gossip!! mike

That is only thing keeping me out of the dealership this year. I love my Dakota with the 5.9L . I was looking at the new ones, but without a hemi there's no point in trading.

Yeah there is no R/T, but what about the Stampede? Isn't that supposed to be the new Performance model? If so, Are you saying that it will have an H.O. 4.7L??? I guess I havn't been keeping up good enough. Either that or I blocked it out so I wouldn't cry.

well, in the Jeep Cherokee its between 260-270 hp depending on model.
i dont think you will see a R/T again.. dodge is doing the SRT thing now.

Highly doubt you could call any SRT vehicle slow rat turd, seeing as the SRT-4 is a rocket, SRT-10Ram is the fastet production truck in the world, and I don't even have to say anything about the viper.
