I’m confused, what’s the problem? Are you having a knocking sound from your motor, or just telling us how great the MSD6A is?

did you know that once the fuel air mixture immediately around the spark plug burns that the longer spark timing of aftermarket systems does absolutley no good? Why? or better yet no way you say!

Well here is why:
once the fuel/air mixture starts to burn, it creates an ever enlarging circle of burning/burnt mixture around the spark plug. This burnt mixture surrounds the plug completely and seals off any unburned fuel/air from ever having any contact with the spark. Thus if the rest of the mixture is isolated from the spark by the already burning fuel, the longer spark does nothing.

What these things realy do is give a stronger spark in the higher rpm ranges, say from 3500 or 4000 on up, the factory systems skimp on spark output at these speeds as a lot of our trucks never see more then 3500 rpm unless a young fella is thinking he has a race truck, where your truck does not normaly run at unless under high rpm excelleration. So what happens is these aftermarket boxes do actually help out but at engine speeds that are usually only seen at very high loads or in racing/jack rabbit type starts. Also they produce a more dependable spark strength and length.
