Subject: 2.5L->5.9L Conversion IP: Logged
Message: First of all. Has anyone hear ever taken one of our 4cyl Daks, and swapped it for a nice new 360 lately? If so, what kind of do it your self work am I looking at? Money is also an issue. So I need to know what to save up for. I would like to get a nice 360, with about 350 horses, non fuel injected, with a nice gear ratio, and LSD. What do you all recomend?

Message: well u need to fill us in on a bit more of what your truck is, like year, tranny, etc, and then what type of 360 you want to use, either LA or mag.

Message: O yeh. I have a 98 reg cab with 5 speed. I would like to keep it a manual, and it does not need the magnum heads. I was looking at http://www.mopartsracing.com/parts/blocks.html
last night and the 360, non magnum engine is about what I would want. However, I couldn't find a good 5 speed tranny to go with it. But I didn't look that hard either.

re-consider. I Put one in my 89 Dak and I've
prolly got about $10k in it now (mild
performance
rebuilt 360 around 400hp- on my 2nd tranny now
-
new 8 3/4' rear w/411's and detroit locker). If you
think u can pull it off though, It is definately worth
it. Nothing like smoking brand new $30-60k
sports cars in an old truck. Heres some of my

Message: Yeah. I already changed my mind. I looked into a few things and it would be alot of trouble. But if I had the dough I would do it. I think I'm going to get a nice Yamaha YZFR1, for speed and fun. My truck can already keep up with the S-10's and V6 Daks, so I gues if I put about $1500 more into it I could get boost. A small amount , but still better than my N A power. Thanks for talking me through this though. I just had a thought of grandeur.
