Message:
Gap them at the factory gap for your specific year/make/model.
If you're running an MSD (or any other aftermarket ignition system), you can enlarge the gap by .005-.010". Add Nitrous or a Supercharger and you'll have to go back to factory spec or about .005" smaller.

Message: For the 2001 4.7, copper Autolite 3923's are the way to go, not platinum, right, something to do with messing up the coils?
Thanks (now if I could only find these plugs...)

Message: you can find the plugs at oreilly auto parts. I think they are like 80 cents each or so. To me it was a pain to change them as well just because you have to remove the air hat and move some air conditioning lines i think. Be careful with the clips because the plastic is fairly brittle.

Message: Everyone says that the Autolite 3923 is the way to go but is this still true for the 4.7 or is there a different part number for the 4.7 from the other engines?
Thanks

Message: I put them in my 01 4.7 and haven't had a problem with anything. No pinging. I haven't really noticed a big difference either but I haven't been able to find an aftermarket ignition system for it yet either.
