Message: Today on the way home after about 120 miles into the drive, i rompted on my 2003 4x4 4.7. I brought it up to about 107 then backed off. The emissions idiot light was then flashing briefly then went away. Does anyone know that cause might have been? It never happened before. I did put 93 oct in for a few tanks because we were having -20 degree weather up here in mass for about a week.

Message: You don't need higher octane for cold weather. I'm in Mass too, running fine on 87.

Message: Too high octane for the design of motor.(flame rate) Especially when it`s cold. Unburnt fuel may have tickled 02 sensor, use 87 from now on. Hopefully it doesn`t happen again and you didn`t mess up anything. Good luck.
Where in mass are u guys?
