hey guys hypertech just came out with a the programmer 4 2002-2003 5.9l engines. I just put one on my reg cab R/T. Man what a diffrence. I have more power from idle all through the power band. i set my govener to 128mph. stock i ran a 15.1@90mph, i think i can turn a 14.7 now.

That's why I'm selling my 2002. I'm tired of waiting for performance upgrades for the 4.7L.
This engine has been out for almost 6 years now and still no one has a programmer for my 2002 4.7L. I'm keeping my 2000 R/T for a long time. DC has their head way up the 3rd point of contact. If there were aftermarket pieces readily available for the 4.7L there would be increased sales for Dakotas with that engine. I've written and complained to Hypertech and several others about this. I asked one technical rep. for hypertech when they palnned to have a 4.7L programmer available and he couldn't answer. I explained to him that the 5.2 has been out of production for 3 years and the 5.9 has now gone the way of the dinasour and that the Ram was the number 3 best selling vehicle in America last year and 95% of them ccame with 4.7L engines. Thats's over a million potential customers that you are ignoring and could be reaping the benefits from. He still acted as if there wasn't enough demand for the 4.7L tuner to make one. I'm through dealing with the 4.7L. I'm going back to the 5.9L.

just a story to tell you about the dumb asses at hypertech,ive had my 02 R/T for about 8 months,and i was calling,emailing,and writing them even before i bought it asking about a programmer.usually no response,but recently(a couple of months ago) they said "....we have no plans anytime in the near future."
now a few months later they have one!they need to fire that dumbass!customer service sucks nowadays!but hey.i cant wait to get my hands on one!

Have you ran your truck yet to see what difference the power tuner made? I'm really curious. I want one, but if it doesn't make at least a .3sec difference, I may try to spend my money on better tires or something.

I just checked Hypertech.com - one page shows:
Power Programmer III - 97-2001 5.2/5.9L Dodge Trucks. On another page I see #50008 for '02-'03 Dodge trucks. Guess I'll have to call the 800 # on Monday to see what's going on.

A programmer for what? Even after installing KRC 206 cams the stock computer keeps up just fine. I'll admit there would probably be some performance gains by remapping the fuel mixture curve to match the cam, but the kind of programmer you're talking about can't do that anyway. So, reprogram what?

Well guys finally ran my R/T at the track like 3 weeks ago. here its is 15.1@90 stock, hypertech 14.8@93 in fair weather. I felt a good inprovement with the proggrammer. I love the torque, barly touch the gas and the 360 burns the tires. At the track 60' times were decent 2.2 but with the added torque the 360 spin the crap out of the tires. i am sure with cool weather and drag radials, easy 14.6 or 14.5 Its a great buy. I'v heard guys say go with a B&G flash, but who the hell has 500-600 bucks for that. Oh yeah by the way i weighed my truck, 3,856 lbs. Pigs! its a good thing my truck has no options, but the R/T option its self. How many R/Ts out there are simple as mine.

Sounds great. I was hoping for a .3sec increase. I'll settle for .2sec. Like you said, with some drag slicks should get you another .3. That's my plan also. My truck should go from it's usual 15.2 to 14.7-14.9 with the programmer and the slicks.
