 Subject: Smoked a 01 and 03 cobra

This friday night we all got in the mood to all race. My 2 friends one has an 01 cobra and the other has an 03. I just then put my pistons and my ported heads on, and changed my fluids the day before. I am now probably pushing about 380-385 rwhp. I raced the 01 first. It was close off the line cause he knows how to lauch pretty good, once I caught 2nd gear. I jump to where his nose was at my tailgate. I let off at 80. I was about 2 cars infront of him. Then I went and raced the 03. It was about the same story except for the start. I waxed him on the start. He started catching back at about 45 then I started pulling again once I built up RPMs in 2nd.
This will probably get all those gay mustang boys back in this forum and have them talking crap how their mustang is better than dakotas. I showed the biggest mustang what was up last night so I don't want to hear it. You mustang guys can go home a dream of having a truck that I don't even have 15 grand in running 11s.

yeah actually, when I raced the vette I only had a cam and an intake but thursday I did some more add-ons. Now I'm just waiting to see a Z06 or viper.

Hey, not to knock your story, but corrected me if i'm wrong, but aren't the 03 cobras supercharged and pretty much the bad boy on the street to beat...my 99 R/T can hold her own, but hell, whats your secret??? think you forgot to mention the blower and nitrous your running, cause thats about the least of the mods i would think you need if you even wanna keep up to those boys...just my 2 cents....

an 03 cobra has 390 hp. To get the same 1/4 mile times, a dak would need at least 525 horse to keep up, not to mension the traction problems these trucks have. I'm gonna have to throw out a bull schitt flag on this one.

Mustang Cobra 03: 3,665-lb curb weight (more aero-dynamic)
Yes, you would probably need 500 hp to keep up with the cobra.
I always like to see an underdog win, but in this case, it's just hard to swallow your story.
Try, Supercharger and nitros setup, it's much more believable.
Just my 2 cents.

I dont have a Z06 But I do have a 96 ZR1 its mostly stock. It runs high 11's to vary low 12's.
350,dohc hemi, 16 fuel injectors. The second set of injectors are controled by a key switch on the dash.
I have run off with 5 Vipers, won 2 races. shut down at 165 MPH nose to nose with one. And had my a## handed to me by one.

Red 02 4X4X4 4.7 auto 3.55 LRD, IAT, 180 stat, removed fan, Ect. Here in Monterey Ca.

According to G-tech I run a 12.2@121mph and 0-60 in 4.7 sec. Traction really wasn't an issue I'm running 295/45/17's with Lakewood traction bars. I would say that my truck spins about as much as his 03 cobra was. His 03 cobra on G-tech ran 13.4@113mph and 0-60 in 5.4. I'm thinking thats just mostly crappy driving. Its all motor, I have no supercharger or nitrous although on day I plan on adding some spray. If you want to know the secret, I bought a short block (complete bottom end without heads or intake) 360 from a guy that got it built by Bill Elliots engine mechanic, its bored .030 over, I put on 2.08 ported R/T heads and an M1 4 barrel intake manifold and sitting on top is a holley 100 cfm throttle body. I already had a viper torque converter and 4.11 gears installed.
