You can run them, but you'd do better with about a 2400 or 2800 rpm stall when you go to the track.

Hey BluDak01, I'm curious what you are running for gears. We haven't seen a vendor with a 45RFE converter yet. Since the Hemi is using basically the same tranny (545RFE) that market should develop.

I'm hopin the Hemi will help boost the 45rfe market :\

I run the 206 cams with the stock converter bluedak, with 26" et streets and 3.92 gears. Stalling it up to 1400+- at the line, hits the powerband pretty quick.

Wayne at APS claims to have one for the Hemi with the 45RFE at http://www.apsprecision.com. About a year ago he would come onto dodge and jeep forums hinting that he was working on a converter for the 4.7 and it was due to be released "any day". I have emailed him many times asking about it and never got a response. I just seen that he now offers one for the hemi/45RFE at his site but it says nothing about the 4.7. I emailed asking about it again about a week ago but still have not heard from him. Maybe if everyone inquires about it he will respond to one of us and then information could be shared.

Damn...any of you guys that are Dodge techs (or any of you guys that are affiliated with KRC maybe?) know for sure whether the mating surface to the tranny on the 5.7 and 4.7 are the same? I'd sure like to stall my baby up higher than this 1400rpm crap :)

Err, well, it says on his site that the Hemi's converter gives a 200rpm higher stall than factory, and more effeciency. While the higher effeciency is a plus, I think I'm already stalling it up almost TOO high for a stock converter (1400-1500) so I don't think that'd be worth the 450 bucks and BIATCH of an install.

Still gonna try and get hold of him on whether it will mate to the 4.7L tranny.

Either way, it's encouraging. By this summer maybe I'll be able to to stall up to 2200 or so :-)

I'm crurious - does anyone understand how a higher stall converter, wich slips longer, could be more efficient ? You're right, that does seem like too much work for an extra 200 rpm stall.

Well I finally got a respones from APS and they said the converter for the 5.7 will not work on the 4.7 but the one for the 4.7 is "right around the corner". We'll see.
