Subject: FTC-1/Map Tables?? IP: Logged
Message: Hey Everyone,
I just recently purchased the FTC-1 controller from Split Second for my 00 R/T. I purchased it becuase the unit should allow me to run my mopar pcm in conjunction with my supercharger (ATI P1SC @9lBS), gives me the ability to pull timing out. The unit also features a built in 2bar Map, which should help avoid lean conditions under boost. Right now the unit is installed on my truck. So far i have been able to get the truck to idle by editing the stock pcms MAP table, but other than that the truck pretty much runs like crap. I was curious if anyone has Map Table numbers either for a supercharged application or NA. I am looking for a better baseline than the stock pcm map provides. I appreciate any input.
Thanks
Shane

Message: I have that same controller. You can get maps from KRC Performance under the 4.7 Paxton Programs on the right side of the page. I have created my own though. You can try some of those or I could send you mine if you would like. I run the Paxton blower on my truck and have the program made for that.

Message: Hey Horbedarn,
Is your controller set up to control additional injectors or can you modify the pcm's fuel curves with an overlay map. With the unit i have i am basically trying to alter the pcm's map tables to run with the 2bar 5 volt map which the ftc-1 uses. I checked out KRC's site and the only downloads i could find dealt with controlling additional injectors. Either way if you could email me your table i will see if it will work.
Thanks

Message: Mine is designed for additional injectors so that enough fuel is being injected and enough timing is being taken out. I don't know if it can overlay the pcms fuel curve. Mine is not setup to do that now. Didn't your supercharger come with all the stuff you needed?

Message: ATI provides a an auxilary fuel pump an efmu with there kit. However these pieces do not take in account the fact that the stock map sensor is not intended to read positive pressure. This is why i bought the FTC-1. I was experiencing lean conditions from 0-3psi of boost. From what i gather it sounds like the fuel setup which comes with the Paxton is superior.

Message: I wouldn't say that the Paxton is superior. I had so many problems with it. After talking to Split Second I finally got the correct way that the FTC-1 needs to be wired in. Paxton doesn't tell you the correct way so I had engine lights and poor running conditions for quite a while. I also made my own maps since I changed the pulley. Does you system run lean about 3 psi? What other mods do you have? You might have just been able to do larger injectors, which would be cheaper than the FTC-1. Have you talked to anyone at Split Second about what kind of program you need in the FTC-1? I don't know if my program would help you since you don't have additional injectors.

Message: Well i think i got the FTC-1 pretty much figured out now. The truck runs well all the way to 8.5psi. I still have a slight bit of tuning to do to get the fuel map perfect. The mode i run with the FTC-1 is the signal modify mode which allows me to alter the stock map sensor voltage, and by doing this control how rich or lean the truck runs. I hopefully in the near future will have a complete overlay map table built for the stock 5.9l pcm as well as the mopar perf. pcm. The truck does tend to run lean at 3psi when driving around town, not under wot conditions. I have read that this is due to the stock map sensors inability to read positive pressure, this is one reason for the FTC-1. The second reason is that i want to be able to eventually run my mopar pcm, and to do so i have to be able to retard the timing. The FTC-1 allows me to retard the timing also. The only mods i have are Borla Catback exhaust, ATI Procharger @ 8-9lbs, autolite 3923's, 180 degree tstat, and mopar pcm. The best i have run has been 13.68@101.25mph but i am looking for low 13's this weekend at MIR.

Message: hey guys have you looked at the accell 300+ ignition system? If you buy the 375+ system to go with the 300+ for another $200 it'll do everything you want it to. best of all its plug and go. No splicing wires. On their site it lists all the part numbers for the 2 and 3 bar map sensors as well as the correct conector numbers for the Dodge systems. Heck you can even just call them. If I had the money to play it would already be under my hood!!
