Message: BMan..... That is a useless motor. All you can
do with it is use it as a replacement motor. But
they are all under warranty. You would have to
put a new throtle body on it that nobody makes
and a stand alone computer. The stock set up
won't let you do anything to it. Kenne Bell can't
get their S/C to work on it, cause when the 02
sensors see a rich fuel mixture, it closes the
drive by wire throtle body. This is not you
daddy's HEMI !!!!!

Message: I think the whole idea of the new HEMI being only about a 350, is kind of sad. I just wish it would still be a 426. To much gas these days though. But I think that trying to put the "new hemi" in one of our dakotas would be more difficult than it would be productive. Get a crate 426 if you want that much trouble.

Message: Yup, you guys are right. I just saw it and drooled. That throttle body system is computer controlled and only one company makes them that I know of. I don't know how much it is but it can be modified to be simpler, but anything can be done if money was no object.
That throttle body system is interesting. I bet when you rug the pedal the throttle valve only opens as much as the engine needs, much like a variable venturi. That my friends is a secret to getting a higher percentage of volumetric efficiency! I'm on the go with that idea for my '98 Dak Sport.

Message: The New Hemi is a 348 cid motor that's only half as$ done you might say. The Cumbustion chamber isn't really fully hemisphere because it wouldn't meet EPA standards not to mention California emission standards.
I don't think I would take the 5.7 (348) wanna be Hemi. These engines was none for large amouts of toruqe.
If I boosted my 318 LA motor up to 345 HP. I expect it would put out more than what the Hemi puts out.
