Subject: PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!! IP: Logged
Message: i have a problem i hope someone out there can help me solve. I have a 92 Dak with a v6. Whenever i let my truck sit 4 1/2 hours or so and i go to crank it up it will idle real low (like 2-300 rpm) for about 3 minutes then it will rev up to 1500 rpm and then idle down normally. I have replaced the fuel filter, O2 sensor, cleaned the throttle body and intake, and replaced the spark plugs and wires. CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME?

Message: Kinda sounds like your EGR is sticking when cool. Haven't dealt with them a lot, but if it's sticking in the open position this would choke a cold engine on startup. Once it gets warm enough, it pops into action and things straighten up. Naturally, there could be other explanations for this, but it's where I'd look next. If that's okay, start replacing sensors. Make MAP sensor the first on the list and go from there.

Message: Ok i think i might do the sensor thing. And yeah i didn't think it could idle that low either. It sounds like i have a really serious cam in there when i crank it up sometimes. It does not affect my performance so i guess it could be a good thing b/c when i leave from work and it shakes and hits real hard it seems to scare everyone from trying to take me at the stop light HA as if they could anyway. What are any of you guys 1/4 times?

Message: I had this problem on my '94 V6. I replaced the Idle Air Control Motor and now it works fine. Its on the back of the throttle body. I'm not sure what all these other acronyms mentioned mean, they might actually be the same thing. But anyway, this worked for me.
