Ive got a 99 RT RC with a carsounds high flow cat, to a 1 in 2 out flowmaster 40, with 3.5 in tips coming striaght out the back. I love the sound. However Im putting on the hotchkis kit and I am afraid the rear axle will now hit the pipes going over it. What is the best thing to do in this situation? I like the current sound and I dont really want to go any louder if possible. I ve heard turn downs are much louder. Any advice would be cool.

Depends how much clearance you have from your axle to pipes.. If you dont have much clearance, your gunna have to re-do your setup. I'm lowered 3/5 with flowmaster 50 series. love it

I had my 2001 r/t lowered 2/4 and had to get the two tail pipes rebent for clearance.

Okay, so you guys didnt have to go the turn down route, just had to get the pipes bent so they cleared the axle more? If so, thats cool b/c I really love the current setup I have. The hotchkis kit is a 2/3 drop, so if you guys did it with a 3/5 and a 2/4 I should be fine, right? Just have to get the pipes rebent.

The muffler shop can use your present left side pipe for a pattern, or just put in a new section clearing the rear end.
