Message: The exhaust manifolds on your 4.7 are more efficient than most, what are you trying to do ? Are you more interested in dress up/noise or do you want to build power ? I'm not trying to slam you, that's just not where the power is for your truck.

Message: Aftermarket headers for the 4.7 really aren't worth it, but the best probably are JBA's

Message: By all means, do other mods first and headers last, if want to go that far. The factory 4.7 exhaust manifolds flow within 2 per cent of headers, hardly worth the trouble or expense.

Message: Seriously though, when the Magnums first appeared there were no headers available that'd outflow the manifolds. After less than 2 years, the OEM's got a slightly smaller inside diameter, which cut about 10hp, and the header guys stepped up with newly improved header designs. Give 'em time.

Message: There was a story on the web a couple of years ago (allpar or similar) talking about the D-C exhaust specialist engineer. His job was to design the 4.7 exhaust. They made a direct comparison of the production exhaust to headers, and came up with a 2% efficiency loss on the stock manifolds. Given that the engineer had all of D-C's resources at hand, I agree that the aftermarket header manufacturers have a lot of homework to do first, before marketing 4.7 headers.

Message: I think properly built long tube headers are the best overall solution for the 4.7L :) But I might be biased...

Message: Demon's got a potential design in the works. R&D is patience though so we'll wait. I'd return the Gibson's and wait for Demon's personally.
