Hey i got a 02 reg cab R/T and I was wondering if i were to go head to head with a hemi ram on the highway who would mostlikly win?

I just got a hemi ram, and i would say off the line the hemi would win for sure. The dakota may catch up later. I havn't really had a chance to put it through the tests, but I was very impressed with the smooth power delivery of the Hemi. Its fast.

Hemi's run 15 sec passes. I would watch out. A hemi lit me up by about a truck length. From a roll i think you would see the same effect hemi by a little bit.

It seems that everyone in a hemi wants to race my R/T CC, but I have not been beat yet. They are very close though (the reg cab that is )The QC I raced was stung buy at least 3-4 lenghths. Definately fast though!

the regular cab ram HeMI with 3.92 rear and 5 speed trapped a best of 15.0 stock, maybe on slicks and a bad launch from a lightning might make it interesting.

hey guys dont lightnings run 14 flat? high 13s stock? just to let all of you know, who cant calculate... the ram with all the goodies is still a second or so behind...anyway I whipped a QC Hemi's @ss just yesterday in my 99 R/T CC almost stock...

I've seen alot of quad cab Hemis at the track and none of them were close to a 15.0. Maybe a reg cab could pull it off. To who ever said the Lightning and RC Hemi would be an interesting race: I don't care how bad of a start the Lightning got, the L would kill the hemi everytime. They run consistant 13.7 to 13.9s down here in South FL with nothing but a K&N filter.

The Hemi is definatly fast for what it is. Being in a 5000lb truck is pretty fast. It pulls strong from the bottom but I think the R/T's light weight helps it, but it would be a close race.

My roommate has a 2000 Lightning with a K&N and a Basani catback and he was running 14.2-14.4 with his tonneau (hard, about 15-200 pounds). And has a best time of 13.9 without it. So as for a ram beating a lightning, I don't think so.

Had a Hemi tailgating me one night a couple of months ago. I made a right turn at an intersection (he did too) and I didn't punch the pedal, just floored it some, just to see if he would take the bait.......he did. So I finish flooring it and see him real slowly gaining ground on me before we had to shut down.
After that I look down and notice that my air conditioner was on...........DOH

I forgot to mention, that Hemi was a reg cab......
Wish Dodge would start putting the Hemi in our R/Ts, but I'm quite happy with my ol' 5.9......

Boys, if you're ever in Vegas, look for me in the atlantic blue regular cab Hemi. I won't be hard to find, 'cause I'm always in front of you! I work at a dealership and have driven many R/Ts and stock, from a stop, my Hemi will wil. On the highway the Mayor is limited to 105 mph while your R/T is limited to 118. As for the Lightning, let's be real, Ford had to put a blower on a weak engine to beat the Hemi (although the Lightning came out first)! With the blower, the 5.4 ltr engine "only" has 380 hp and the truck is lighter then "normal trucks. Now, with that said, if you want to compare the blown Lightning with the naturally aspirated Hemi, then I wounder how the Lightning would fare against the SRT10 Ram?
