Subject: Location of Free Timing Mod for 360's IP: Logged
Message: Just some insight....
The sensor is directly located behind the passenger valve cover. It's tight to get to but you can get help by having 1 person looking up from the bottom of engine with flashlight and the other coming from the top to loosen the allen bolts. Once you loosen the bolts, take off bracket which will have the crankshaft sensor attached to it. Disconnect the sensor wiring(by the driver's side valve cover) You will have to slot the metal bracket holes to the right. Make sure to take out the rubber grommet as well. This allows the crankshaft sensor to advance the timing. This will advance the timing 4 degrees across the rpms. This mod DOES work......anyone who says it doesn't probably didn't do it right and didn't follow directions(Possibly left in the rubber grommet). This will only work on the 360 cubic inchers. Sorry this won't work on the 4.7's. This mod actually advances the timing on the already sluggish 360's and makes them come alive again.
