Subject: Want to improve your brakes? IP: Logged
Message: Although I did not have warped rotors I did install some pretty fine drilled, slotted and vented rotors this last weekend. Raybestos Super Stop Severe Duty rotors and pads...the whole thing took about 30 minutes and cost a mere $230 including shipping (about $80 per rotor) from RockAuto.com (bonus-shipped within hours of making the order, and went from back east to San Diego in 4 days!). And it made a major improvement over the stock brakes! Thought I'd pass along the cudos for a great product and a great parts store!!!

Message: Oh, almost forgot ... thanks for the info Dr.Dakota. I'll probably be going the route of new brakes come spring. This sounds like a pretty good deal. Keep us updated on how they work out for ya in the coming months. Thanks again.

Message: Does anyone make a four piston caliper that is a direct replacement for our stock calipers? I have looked at the Baer, Wilwood, and SSB websites but haven't found anything yet.
Thanks for any help.

Message: I could be wrong, but my stock is a 2 piston caliper. One on the outside of the rotor, one on the inside, right? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Message: I don't know about your V6, but I would guess its the same as my V8, just the 9 inch rotor/smaller pads (V8 has the 11 inch rotor/larger pads). Mine is just 1 piston and then the caliper is allowed to slide to have pressure on the other side, most cars have been this way for over 20 years. I know there is calipers out there with a piston(s) on both side, I just haven't seen any lately. The last time I saw a 4 piston cliper was my brothers '70 Nova, or my old Honda Hurricane...I think my wifes L.L.Bean Outback has 2 piston calipers (?). Look, you should be able to tell by looking thru the wheel.
