Tufoil saved my 318 when I lost on oil cooler hose at 2am while plowing. I drove the truck with the lifters clacking for over an hour expecting it to quit on me. Just a hose and some oil and it was back to normal. That was 3 years ago and she still purrs. I have used this stuff for 15 years with no problems. The product is not just ptfe so all the slam about ptfe by itself is worthless. Go ahead and search tufoil on the ftc website, you won't find it. The federal government uses this lube itself. The product was introduced to me by an air force helicopter tech who uses it for assembly.

REPOST ... just an FYI.

TufOil contains PTFE. PTFE is BAD !!!

TufOil (basically the same as Slick 50) is a barrier ingredient and the possble effects it causes is that it seems to only make the oil oxidize rather quickly after adding the additive.

Again ... TufOil contains PTFE. PTFE is bad. Basically marketed as Teflon ... and they piggyback off the fact that everyone has seen the "egg slip off the frying pan" commercial on TV. Dupont owns the Teflon technology and they even state that Teflon is not good for an internal combustion engine. There were a lot of FTC lawsuits ... and settlements ... regarding the use of Teflon in aftermarket additives.

If you think that you need better barrier protection, use an oil that has a high level of moly as an additive that is included direct from the manufacturer. There is simply no need for any of those snakeoil type additives. Choose a good oil with a good antiwear package in it and there is simply no need for TufOil (or Slick 50). If you want protection from metal to metal contact on a cold start, choose a quality synthetic oil, or an oil with moly in it.

There is more to an oil than the sum of its parts which show up in a typical UOA/VOA (Used Oil Analysis/Virgin Oil Analysis). That's why some additives backfire. There is an optimal amount of moly/boron/zinc/phosphorous/calcium, etc ... and the type/form/percentage of each is critical to it's optimum performance.

You will not see much difference in you UOA's using TufOil, but what it does is cause pitting of the yellow metals and unless you pull your motor apart to examine them before and after, your test's could show excellent #'s.

Do you want to risk bearing failure? This is one thing that Briggs and Straton found when they did their test on PTFE. It showed that the machine running the PTFE had actually pitted the yellow metals where the other machine that ran with standard oil showed no such evidence.

In closing: Hundreds of Engineers, Scientists and Chemists (spending thousands of hours) have done an excellent job assembling good oils that do not need these magic additives.

I always check my facts before I post.

Last time I looked (10 seconds ago), TufOil contained PTFE.

Here is a DIRECT QUOTE from TufOil's website:

"Tufoil's PTFE suspension works itself deep in to the most limited contact areas unaffected by other lubricants."

Christ you guys are still posting on this thread, after 3 years!?!?!?

FYI Mr. Amsoil, I used your product and the only thing I got out of it was a higher credit card bill. No mileage increase. No smoother engine idle, or anything. I'll stick with my quaker state sythetic blend at $2.50 a quart rather than $6 a quart Amsoil anyday.

I've heard good and bad about this stuff. But I've never used the stuff myself. I change the oil every 3000 miles and use 4 quarts of 10/40 with 1 quart of marvel mystery oil right in the pan. After having every make of truck thats out there and putting 200k to 300k on all of them without any major problems thats were I put my money. My oil change cost 10$ and that includs the filter.

Complete Bull Sh1T

read your owners manual
you inbreed!

you warranty can and will be void for not following the car/truck makers oils guidlines
if it says use API certified oils then hey guess what?

and if it says oil changes done no longer then 7500 miles then hey guess what?

Not matter what the oil maker claims!
and infact! if you check scamsoils own written guidlines! they say 25,000 miles or longer but yet
READ GOOD! they also tell you to follow the auto/truck makers guidelines!

why? EASY! cause when the dealer denies your warranty claim an you then go to scamsoil
they can Stand their arms crossed and shake their heads NO!!!!!
cause hey they have it in writting too!

i swear you guys buy into this scamsoil crap like you was lemmings following him through a raging river!

they "the auto/truck maker" WILL NOT and DO NOT have to approve any warranty claims!
IF you DO NOT follow what is required for oil!
you were given everything in writing!

more proof needed? just ask
