Hey DrewzR/T,

My K&N tube is cracked right now too! But this is the 2nd time its happened. What u gotta do is email K&N and they will leave you with a phone number or just email you back. You have to take a picture of the crack with a digital camera and have proof of date on it.

My digital camera doesnt show the date in the bottom right corner so I took a newspaper and showed the date on it next to the crack on the k&n on the picture. But after all that, they will send you a whole new tube for free! They sent me a new one for free. Thanks to their nice service. But I'm pissed now because this is the 2nd time my tube has cracked!

I bet your 2.5 Liter turbo Dakota looks like a Mexican truck! Riding on the frame with 13" gold spoke rims that stick about 3" outward!

Hot air does no good for performance.

Screw that metal tube and go home brew. You will get true cold air and save $$$ doing it.

You wont be sorry!

Well I'm not all that worried about performance but since I can get a new one I'll do that and still get the chrome one for shows.

Anyone still know what size fits on our daks?

Well, the most common one I see is the 14" x 3" K&N X-Stream Round filter.

Also, the 12" x 3" Mopar one is pretty common too.

Either one will get the job done. Also, I wouldnt get the chrome one. Try to go with a billet one so it wont change colors by the heat of the engine and wont fade.

That would be a great filter if you could get a hood scoop to fit around it.

As it stands, your probably about the same as you were with the stock tube. You now have less flow resistance, but are receiving HOT air.
And it's got to be loud as hell!

I'll admit most of my older cars all had chrome air filters like that.
But once I built a SEALED hood scoop I realized the error of my ways and never used HOT AIR INTAKE ever again!

BTW... nice headers.

i have the kn filter for my 93. The older trucks use the round style, and the kn's are chrome, but...They suck a unbelevable amount of hot air, and the hiss and wissle louder than all other engine noise. Every one always asks if i have a supercharger it is so loud.

Ask for the kn fipk, for gen 2 daks.

Hmmm, actually I dont have a clue to tell you the truth. I'm guess it does because it probably wouldnt work without that tube that connects to the intake. sorry but thats the best i can do. i've never seen one of those air cleaners in person
