Subject: 3.9L max boost??? IP: Logged
Message: I have an chance to buy a supercharger cheap, but it will take a bit of work to install it on my 2000 3.9 magnum.
How much boost can this thing handle in stock trim? When will the fuel management need to be tweaked?

Message: In order to feed the engine with the supercharger a fuel pump that puts out around 120gph will need to be installed. Fuel rails, injectors and ignition system will also need to be upgraded. The engine itself can only handle about 8lbs. boost. If you go over 8lbs. boost the heads will need to o-ringed or you will be constantly blowing out the head gaskets. There's alot more to supercharging than just bolting on the supercharger. Fuel and ignition systems need to upgraded also.
