Subject: gurgling radiator IP: Logged
Message: Welp, I have an '01 287 V8 auto trans that has started to spew out of the overflow vent. Also, it fogs up the side windows and sends coolant fumes into the cab. I suspect the thermostat is sticking sometimes but not all the time, cause I can see the guage fluctuate a little while driving (as if it really IS working). Also, if it were the heater core leaking it should fog the windshield big time instead of only the side windows. Has anyone out there had these symptoms? No, it's not a leaking hose, I'm a little higher on the mech scale than that. Maybe the water pump ain't pushing coolant like it should, or the system needs a good flush. Welp, any opinions on this problem? Taker easy....

Message: Well, the thermostat swap is a good place to start.
They aren't expensive, but they can ruin your day...

Message: i'd start with flushing the system first. maybe check the radiator cap. it may not be holding enough pressure on the system. are you having to add coolant?
