About 10 years ago I removed an old 318 engine from a sixty-something dodge truck. It was NOT the 318 LA block. It was something older, and physically bigger as well. We had this 440 with 727 and the guy wanted it in his truck.
It was a real bitch. I had to weld new ears on his cross member to hold some generic motor mounts. Then I had to search thru the junk yard to find manifolds that would fit. His steering gear box was also in a bad place. He even had the shifter on the front dash, like you found in older 1970's motor homes.
I did get it in there and working.
I bet he has a heck of a time working on that damn thing or finding parts to fit!
