Anyone tried the 4.10 gears??? is it too hi a ratio? or should i go with the 3.90?? I do hiway driving quite a bit, but, with the 5-45RFE, i wonder if i could get away with the 4.10's?

I've got 4.10s and I'm really pleased with them. I posted my results/findings; Do a search for "4.10s installed" I think I posted it under the Performance board.

I also made the switch to 4.10's and have actually gotten better milage city and highway over the 3.55's.
I kindof with I would have gotten the 4.56's now.
Still happy with the 4.10's. I think they are the perfect do it all gear for our trucks.
Quad, stick, 4x4, 4.7

what are you guys paying stateside (i am Canadian eh?) for a gearset? i can get them up here for about $300 for the ring and pinion.

go through oreillys. they have the 4.10s for around 200. the're a motive gears. i have had two sets one in my old auto 4.7l and now one in my 4.7 5 spd. love em to death. wouldnt have any other gear for that truck. great 60 footers....
