Message: I own a 98 Dakota 3.9L auto with 93000 miles and this morning I went to start it and it didn't turn over. I tried again and it started and died right away. I restarted and held the engine at 1500 rpm for about 1 minute and it idled ok but stalled when I put it into gear. Got it to the end of the street and it stalled with the same results. I figured it was overheating so I put anti-freeze in it (almost a gallon of 50/50 mix)and it seemed fine. The truck sat for about 3 hours and now does the same thing. I replaced the plugs, wires, cap and rotor about 15000 miles ago. Can anyone help me with this problem? Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Message: The first thing i thought was the TB or PCV valve or breather. Pretty much same thing happend to me. It would start, and stay on with some gas, but when i tried to idle, it'd die. So i just disconnected the PCV valve hose, and it works fine.

Message: Thanks for the help, It was the battery causing the problems. I also dumped a bottle of injector cleaner in the tank when I filled up. Works like brand new again.
Thanks again,
