Subject: will my exuast need welding????? IP: Logged
Message: i have a 2001 4.7 and i just bought a flowmaster delta 40 series single inlet and dual outlet and i was wonderin when installed will welding be needed or just clamps and stuff???

Message: Depends on if you bought just muffler or kit. If you bought kit it should have all the clamps and brackets you need to install it. If you just bought the muffler depends on what you buy to install it with however I recommend you weld it or have it welded. I'm assuming you have single outlet now if not you should be able to use old hangers and/or tail pipes if they are still in good condition and not welded to muffler that is on truck now.

Message: Just my own opinion but I would go to the local big rig parts store and get some band clamps. These ate what I use and they are the greatest thing in the world. They are made of stainless steel and are abut 3 inches wide. They stretch when you tighten them down. They can be reused and the pipes can be flaired, joined, or have a gap and the clamps will still give you a leak proof seal. I dont know why everyone dosent use them.
