In my experience, Headers distinctivly change the sound as well as free up some extra ponies. Header wrap helps keep the heat in because headers do lose their heat a lot faster than stock manifolds. They also are known to kill nearby components like starters, but still worth the hassle in my book. Just use heat shields around starters, etc.
When and if I can find descent ones for less than $400 I'd buy them in a heartbeat!

Headers are $375, you pay for shipping. Gaskets, downpipes, bolts, and y-pipe all included for a complete install. Theses headers are brand new, never been on the truck.

headers dont make as much of a sound difference as a muffler.... actually the sound difference is almost un-noticeable. this was the first mod on my r/t(gibson ss headers) and it sounded barely different than before. once i removed the cats that definately helped and the muffler was the main change in sound.

There is not a lot that stands out in an engine bay more than some beautiful chrome headers. Probably a little more than 5HP and it should smooth your HP and TQ curves out a little instead of peaking them as other mods will do. Sounds better, looks better, performs better, and ceramicoated will last nearly forever, plus they are fun to put on. $400 is definitely worth it in my opinion. They will also help in the future when adding other mods to increase breathing.
