I have a 1999 R/T RC W/Mopar Headers, Cold Air Intake, MBRP Catback Exhaust & Mopar PCM I always thought that my truck with those mods should run High 14's maybe 14.8 or so but I just got back from the track and came to reality and my best time was 15.00 @ 90 MPH is that about right or should I be running better?? Also bear in mind I am running stock bald tires so i can only launch at about 1200 RPM Without breaking loose so would I be able to launch closer to 2000 RPM with good tires??? Just curious give me some opinions and maybe well your at it what are the next best mods I need to run high 13's?? Thanks ALOT

I dont know what my altitude is but i'm in Toronto, Canada. My particulars were 1/4= 15.007 @ 91.09 MPH 60'= 2.117 1/8= 9.595@72.38 Reaction=.633. I ran about 6 times and consistantly ran 15.2 but when I did a brake burn I immidiatly ran 15 flat, I was launching at around 1300 RPM Max or else my tires wanted to break loose and I wouldn't get a good launch. I'm thinking if I had sticky tires I could probably hold my launch at about 2000 RPM, anyone else know what RPM is the max launch with good tires?? I know my truck should be in the 14's but I can't get it there.

hmm, i would check the obvious... is your floor mat under your gas pedal? lol. do you run with your spare tire? tailgate down? 1/8th tank of gas? thats a decent 60' for RSA's, It's about what I used to get, and I put mine at 22psi. 1300 is a standard launch, unless youve got a higher stall converter. Not to bash the site here, but these guys would rather tell you that you should have bought a 4.7, for excellent r/t advice/troubleshooting.. go to www.dakotart.com and find the delphi message board from there. Been there since I bought my truck, and those guys have helped immensely over the years.

what was the huimmidity and temp when you raced it? also was it your first time? I went to the track for the first time last wednesay with my 91 with the TBI 5.2L the two fastest runs were 16.2 sec. I thought it would at least be a high 15 sec truck but it was also my first time at the track and it was very hot and hummid and the tracks. Im pretty sure im faster than this beacuse i ran against a f-body mustang 5.0L and he beat me by a 1/10 of a sec and i ran a 16.3or4 that run. If it was your first time go another day on a cooler night.

15 sec flat seems a litle slow for the mods u have. my 2002 rc r/t with k&n gen2, f&b 50mm TB, 180 thermo, gibson headers, jba downpipes with no cats, and a flowmaster 40 series muffler dumped ran a 14.9 at 91 mph with a 2.25 60' in 85 degree very humid weather at around sealevel.
