Subject: fastman 52mm t.b. noise?
IP: Logged

Message:
Hey fellas,
Just installed my fastman 52mm t.b. on my '00 cc r/t. Install went smooth as ever, but when i fire it up I get a loud, high pitched windin noise from the t.b. Is this normal at first and/or has any one else experienced this after initial install?
Thanks,
Jeff

I started getting that when I took off the stock airhat and replaced it with an open element K&N setup. Its the idle air control valve and from what I hear, its normal. I like the sound. Its almost like a supercharger.

So I shouldnt worry you dont think? I mean its quite loud especially under the hood, I just wouldnt want there to be an air leak or something when the whole point is to get more air into the t.b.

Check the vaccuum line on the front of the TB-- that gets overlooked when people do TB swaps.

Where can you get the Fastman TB and about how much? Holley offers one but it's like $400 or somewhere around there. ANy links would also be appreciated.

I fixed my problem, had some left over material from the original gasket, cleaned that off now it sounds normal again, thank god! Anyways, go to www.thefastman.com Costs about $250, but after you send him your core t.b. (the stock one) he'll refund you $100. Great guy very helpful and the instructions are very easy to follow.
