i might buy an coolair intake for my 2001 4.7 w/ flowmasters but is it true that the longer the pipe of the intake the more HP you'll gain with a truck

As I understand it, the length of the tube doesn't have any bearing on the performance since it's the cooler air your shooting for. My intake is not that long with a 45 degree bend, What you are looking for is a direct airflow to the throttlebody. Remove the flap by the radiator and set the filter at a downward angle. It will work great!
