FOr all of you that have had overheating issues with your 5.2 and 5.9 I have a solution. My truck used to overheat constantly while in traffic. I have a 97 5.2 with 30K on it with headers and all the other goodies. I recently went to the local dodge dealership to ask about the clutch on my fan. Turns out mine was smoked. If you let your truck idle and then shut it off your fan should turn about 1.5-2 times, if it turns more then its not working properly (mined spun about 20 times with only 30K on it!) So I went up to Carquest and purchased a heavy duty clutch for 130 dollars, they have like 3 kinds get the heavy duty. I put it on and went to NED last night. Sitting in the staging lanes I used to hit 220+, not cool for racing. Last night with all the heat humidity and header heat it never once went about 200 even after 2 back to back runs. THis might be the fix for some of you.
