Message: i got a 2001 4.7 and i was wonderin if adding flow masters with a single inlet and dual outlet would increase horsepower and make a deeper louder sound, also what size pipes should be used

Message: You shouldn't expect much of an increase in hp, but it should help a little at mid-range RPMs. Depending on what sound you're going for, the 40 series are just plain loud, and the 50 series are more mellow/deep. I have a 50 series on my 5.2 and like it quite a bit.
Stay away from pipes that are too big...it will rob exhaust velocity and move your powerband into higher RPM ranges. A dual 2.25" out should work, no bigger than 2.5" out.
Hope that helps.

Message: with 3" exhaust tips. You'll have to run them out the left side forward or aft of the tire. If you run them straight out the back you'll probably have to lose the spare tire. The gas tank on the right side means the pipe needs to be far enough away from it. I've got this setup, a little horsepower at mid top top and low rumble sound.
