Message: it will be very close but the rsx will pull u cuz of the manual transmission. off the line and thru second gear u should dump on him. It will proly come down to his driving ability.

Yes we have raced each other for fun on several
occasions. I have a 360 degrees air intake and he has an AEM short ram air intake. No other mod's done to either vehicle. It depends on the race, RT4ME, if your racing stop light to stop light and you don't smoke your tires off, you stand a good chance of taking him because the RSX's torque doesn't kick in until the VTEC engages at around 5500 rpm. So you'll have him on the low end. Now, if you do an all out race to 120 miles per hour, I would bet on the RSX. After they get out of 1st gear, they can keep the VTEC continuously engaged.

Message: not 100% correct, but close.....
RSX-S should smoke you, the i-VTEC doesn't come on at a set RPM, as did the VTEC of the previous DOHC VTEC engines or the SOHC VTECs. The i-VTEC recognizes throttle % and fuel intake and switches over almost instantaneously in order to make it's power. Sure, the peak power still isn't until rougly 7600 RPMS, but it hits it so fast, it doesn't matter. And the i-VTEC engines reach peak torque faster than their VTEC counterparts, thus making them slightly quicker given the same conditions.

The RSX-S with a decent driver will hand you your shorts. Power to weight ratios favor the RSX-S. They are anywhere from mid to high 14 second cars stock (with the 16" wheels/tires).
