Subject: REAL Cold Air for Gen II's!?!? IP: Logged
Message: I recently have seen a real cold air system for the gen II daks at hughes engines and was wondering if anyone has one of these, and what they think about the performance of it over the k&n chrome air hat that they call a fipk.

Message: I wouldn't bother. On my '94 I simply put the stock air cleaner and hose back on (had a K&N FIPK) with a K&N drop in filter. Then I removed the plate that covers the air intake in the grille. Voila! Ram air. Seat of the pants feel is that it did increase power over the FIPK and didn't cost anything except for the drop in.
