Message: Sorry to say guys, but like the 3.9 v6dak, the R/T is outdated. Geez, for the price why not mod out a 4.7 or a regular 5.9....Probably be cheaper in the long run and still beat an R/T. If Dodge does start making them again, they should seriously consider putting in a more capable stock engine...heck even the hemi tuned for performance would make it scream..oh and a manual tranny would be the smartest update idea.

Message: ya if your an idiot and buy new. (yes i understand some people with barely enough money to afford it, want a new one just to have one) for the rest of us, it pays to shop around.
I bought a 99 sport 5.2 in late 99 for 22k.
a year later i bouht a 99 r/t for 19k. 5k on the clock. both trucks identical to eachother options wise. cost difference is a moot point if you shop around between r/t 4.7 or what-have-you

Message: Hey pete, forget about the M3. Trying to run with imports on the freeway is a lost cause. I was actually pretty happy with my truck last Saturday when I killed an M3. The difference was it was not on the freeway. Light to light I killed this guy, he wouldn't even look over at the next light when I was going to ask him if he wanted to go again. Everyone talks crap about the R/T but I am pretty happy with mine...after a few modifications of course.

Message: the type Rs are a 14 flat car STOCK.....r/ts run 15.6 15.8 if your lucky STocK........ plus the type r is about 1000 pounds lighter....both have the suspension and extra goodies....and I dont know I could be wrong on this one but I thought that you could only get a type r over seas like the skyliner does this mean they are DC tamper Free? Not the case with our 360 r/ts which are heavily handicapped by our lovely Government...

Message: The 5.9 just isn't a racing engine, it's made for towing power. It's quick right off the line but after that it just doesn't want to keep pulling. They should make a HO 4.7 R/T and make it available with a 5 spd. Then you've got a truck that can spank some import ass.

Message: reality wut the hel are you talking about the 5.9 just isn't a racing motor?...a 5.9 responds to mods way more than a 4.7 would...you can get an R/T into the 11-12 second range with a some work...if the 5.9 was only for towing then why would Dodge put it in an R/T?

anyways, the Type R integras were sold in 99, 00, and 02 I believe, and only in certain colors (only in yellow in 99 I think, 00 was only black or white, something like that, I don't know). You might be thinking of the Civic Type R, which isn't sold in the U.S. at all.

There is no 95 type R though, unless he put the type R engine into a 95 integra, or imported one from Japan. I was just referring to when they were sold in the US (even though I was still off on most of my years :) )

Message: The 360 is a TRUCK motor, but you CAN build a very capable street motor you just need $$$, the R/T is NOT a RACE truck R/T stands for "road and track" thats why it comes with better suspension and 3:92 gears(hence the freeway performance). Buy a few mods and put them on an R/T and you will be surprised on the performance gains

Message: Your right Demon Dakota about all the aftermarket
parts being available. Those cars are alot of fun right out of the box. I've taken many rides with my brother in his basically stock RSX-S and they handle excellent. He takes many corners at high speed that would have left my Dak in the ditch. There is no way I can hang with him if any cornering is involved. And when the VTEC engages it is loud and strong and it pulls harder than my DAK.
