I have a Vortech SC and was wondering if anyone was using an aftercooler with their SC. I have seen the air-to-water setup at KRC. Are there any other types or places to look or is that pretty much my only option?

KRC's is a good option or you could custom fab a large air to air. Remember the intercooler will drop your boost by 1-3 psi and you will need a smaller pulley to get it back. The intercooler should allow you to leave in more timing under boost which is how you will gain more power.

Also remember that the increased resistance and higher speed pulley will increase the air temp also. I use a water/alcohol injection system which is small and very effective. It drops the temp by 40-50 degrees when it is on. Although this is what was claimed in their literature, my intake temp gauge shows the same.

Thanks for the response. I am already running a smaller pulley than stock and I don't think that I can go smaller because of the blower RPMs. How does the water/alcohol injection work?

Water/Alcohol injection is simple. You have a spray nozzle in your airhat, a water pump, and a water tank. When the boost level reaches a set PSI the system turns on. The water/alcohol is injected and evaporates. The evaporation process cools the air charge and help prevents predetonation. Has worked extremely well for me thus far. You do have to refill the tank just about every time you refill your gas tank.

Hey Scott, where did you get your system? Also, the Vortech setup already has the two supplementary fuel injectors in the airhat, is it difficult to fit the water/alcohol injectors in there too?

I use denatured alcohol. I also have the
Vortech with the two supplementary fuel
injectors. I got the supercharger and
warer/alcohol system on Ebay for $1,500. It
was fairly new, but the shop that had initially
installed it did a total hack job. They had the
nozzle blocking a good amount of the airflow
in the airhat and also had it epoxied into place.
I bought a boss and had it welded to the airhat
that the nozzle screws into.
